St Andrew's Church, Sutton-in-the-Isle
John Youngs was born in Sutton in 1796. He served with 23rd Regiment, Royal Welsh Fusiliers, joining up toward the end of the Penninsular War. He was also a veteran of the Battle of Waterloo.
After his time in service, he claimed his war pension and moved back to his home village, which he retired to until he died on 13th April, 1878.
