This little single room hut, complete with chimney and the tiniest fireplace, was once the crossing keepers hut for Histon railway station.
Now shaded under trees in a grassy patch of earth, it once stood on the opposite side of the tracks, close to the crossing gate.
When the long abandoned railways lines were to be transformed into the Cambridge guided bus way, the little brick hut was at risk of demolition.
A group of local volunteers came together and made the relevant plans to move it to safety. In 2009 is was dismantled and re-erected in its present position.
